Top. 5. yakuza/rgg quotes? I know there are probably Many, but I am Curious. And you know what, who said honorable mentions can't be included too lol.
This one goes out to the translation team ig. Wouldn't be here without them ect ect. There probably are a lot of honourable mentions because this series has a lot of great moments but I'll contain myself to the 5.
5. "No point? You're just makin' things harder on yourself. Deprivin' yourself for no damn reason. You think the world gives two shits if there's a point or not? Keep that up and it'll break you." -Majima YK/1
(And doesn't it just? Doesn't this exact thing break Kiryu down piece by piece? That's something I love about a moment that's so early, that was written so long ago. And how it's come to reflect the series as a whole.)
4. "Hamazaki left a message for you before he went. 'Keep the Tojo Clan safe from the cops. It's the only proof left that guys like us ever existed.' [...] It took me forty years to realise this. But for guys like us... our lives aren't really our own. There's always someone new to help. Someone we need to protect. These past few years, I fought that fate with all I had. But I'm done fighting. It's time I accept the hand I was dealt." -Kiryu Y4
(I can't help but think about the Implications whenever I hear this quote and Kiryu's headspace from 4 on, & especially in 6 as well.)
3. "Once you step into the shadows you're stained black for life. No gettin' that mark off ya. But... You can still choose who you bring down with ya." -Majima Y0
(🥲🥲 always so ouchie)
2. "Every girl dreams of becoming a star one day. I wasn't any different. But the reality is I had already found what makes me whole. I thought that if I could make it as an idol...I'd be able to keep the orphanage running. But it came at a cost. I would have to leave behind the very man who raised me. [...] Even though he was unconventional, I could always rely on him. I...I think of him like a father. And I love him. I love him very much. [...]" -Haruka Y5
(I cut this short but this whole speech makes my heart ache so bad. The definition of illogical action done for deep emotional motivation. & Kiryu doesn't get to hear it. 😭)
1. "I'll let you in on a little something, The yakuza game, it's not like boxing. The man who gets beat down isn't the loser. The guy who can't tough it out till the end, he's the one who loses." -Kuze Y0
(Yes I know that's probably obvious considering I used this for a gifset recently, but it's really just stuck in my mind since I first saw it.)
Though speaking of honourable mentions while coming up with this list I did think of a) a late game ishin scene i like a lot but its long, from multiple characters, and i don't actually want to spoil it for people so :)
And b) ishin's final scene probably says something profound at some point but its genuinely 20 minutes of uninterrupted dialogue and my brain fucking groans and turns off whenever i watch it. so.

THE YAKUZA ASKS. (A) 1,2,8,9,13. (B) 1,4,5. (C) 2,3,9,11,12. any you want for D or E. (F) 1,3,5. hopefully this is comprehensible lol
ryu ga gotoku questionnaire!
A1: Favorite character(s)?
Kuwanya by far. Otherwise, I'm also fond of: Sugiura, Crow, Tanimura and Nishiki.
A2: Favorite game(s)?
LJ is my favourite story, but YK1 is dear to me for sentimental reasons. Plus, I really like the "fight this guy to level up your friendship" mechanic.
A8: Favorite song(s)?
Machine Gun Kiss! I spent a month or two trying to learn it by heart. Honourable mentions are Pure Love in Kamurocho and Akiyama's version of Baka Mitai.
A9: Favorite game location(s)?
Purgatory in Kamurocho, easily.
A13: Favorite minigame(s)?
Hostess clubs and Cabaret Club Czar. I like the chats!
---
B1: Which character do you relate to most and why?
u are evil for asking this (affectionate). There actually isn't a RGG character that makes me feel absolutely insane Relating To Them, but much like Sugiura, I too am a pretty boy who gets swept up in his emotions and sense of justice. I agree with Kuwana on a lot, too.
B4: Who would you like to post more about but you don’t? Why don’t you?
Answered here!
B5: Which character do you think you would bump heads with most if you knew them in real life?
Most of them. My first thought are the Dojima lieutenants tho. and Dojima himself ofc.
---
C2: Which game had the worst plotline?
Out of the ones i've played, YK2. Secret Koreans as a plot twist is. certainly a twist.
C3: Which character(s) deserved better?
And speaking of YK2, Ryuji and Kaoru!
C9: What was the most emotional scene in the series?
Y0 spoilers /////// Nishiki trying to mercy kill Kiryu and breaking down into tears. That was good. That made me feel insane.
C11: Which character has the best taste in clothing? Who has the worst?
YK2 daigo is my fav. I don't think anyone has bad bad fashion taste because the character designers would have given them all some kind of flair, but Murase in JE is not my kinda thing.
tis daigo, then murase. i feel like u know my fashion sense enough to infer this tho
C12: Whose voice do you enjoy hearing the most?
Akiyama, babyyy.
---
D2: Who is the most underrated character?
Arai and Kido!! I like them!!
E3: Return: Shinada or Tanimura?
Please, I'm dying and you have to water me with Tanimura.
---
F1: Who would you buy a drink? At which bar?
Akiyama, at Vincent. He just seems like the character most down to chill with. I'd want to buy Kuwana a drink at Survive too, but I don't know if I'd be brave enough to go through with it. tfw u are gay...
F3: Who are you inviting to karaoke?
I think the whole YKM99/YDA + Higashi crew would be fun. I can always duck in the nerd corner with Tsukumo/Sugiura when I get tired, and just watch Yagami/Kaito/Higashi be rowdy. If possible, I'd want Kuwana to be part of it too ;__;
F5: What would the first 5 pictures in your camera roll be of?
All the stray cats around Kamurocho. The giant crab fixture in Sotenbori. I feel bad photographing people without their consent, so I'd just tweet about all the weird shit that goes on, text only.

Thoughts on Yakuza 4
Alright! Finished Yakuza 4 on a school day (Although, I still have the substories and Nair’s Training to watch as well) and honestly, I like this one a lot! A few flaws here and there that I’m going to mention during this long ass post so let’s get to it!
Spoilers if you haven’t watched or played Yakuza 4! Note that these are all primarily my opinion!
First of all, the characters! I love all four of the protagonists qwq, they’re a good dynamic and I really like the interactions they had, along with Date too (who’s with Sudo in a helicopter once again). I can totally imagine them just having a good night at a bar or a sushi place somewhere and duke it out with karaoke (and have Akiyama pay for all of their expenses). Yasuko’s death made me shed a tear or two but her death almost seems peaceful. She’s happy that she got to talk to Saejima again - which was one of the only things she wanted to do for the past 25 years, and she didn’t want him to have blood on his hands, a little sister protecting her older brother. I wished there were more interactions between her and Majima but that’s okay.
Akiyama and Tanimura were two of my favorites! (Sorry Saejima, sorry Kiryu) I love their sassy and sarcastic energy! There’s also Saejima with his cursing which is honestly funny to me, while Kiryu is still Kiryu.
There’s also Kido and Arai! Okay.. I may have judged Kido too early but I’m glad to see at the ending that he wasn’t evil like I thought. Although his plot twist definitely surprised me. He actually reminds me of Nishiki a little, maybe because of his hair and his personality.
Arai’s kind of...meh to me, but I kinda gave him some respect when he talked to Tanimura at the ending. He was willing to turn himself in. He and Officer Sugiuchi have some similarities and have both been in some deep shit while in the force which shows a lot of what could go through when it comes to our police forces in real life.
The other villains I didn’t like, That corrupt police officer that just wouldn’t die in Saejima’s part being the top. They’re kind of forgettable in my opinion.
Minami was completely a side character but I still like him, I like his energy and he’s definitely been taught by Majima. I thought he was a rude asshole but he’s not that bad actually, he gives me the vibe of Ryuunosuke Tanaka from Haikyuu!! I actually thought he and Kido were handsome while my friend went for Kiryu and Akiyama (but mainly Akiyama)
Hamazaki got the redemption arc!! He changed from an asshole to a good guy. I cried when Haruka told Kiryu that he passed away. He’s changed a lot after realizing that there were still people who trusted him and he could have been so much better when he’s alive, just as I think with Mine, Nishiki, and Ryuji. Hamazaki’s a villain who turned into a hero. :’)
Next is the music. The scene with Yasuko and Akiyama on the roof, Tanimura escaping from the gas with the sound being muffled and back to normal, Yasuko’s Death and Memorial, When the Four Protagonists did that all for one, one for all thing, and the credits. They were all so good and unfortunately I couldn’t really find them anywhere and are mostly unreleased. : (
The plot is a bit confusing for me. There’s clans everywhere and I wasn’t sure which is which. There’s also something that’s lacking but I’m not sure what it is. The memorable part for me was the ending. After they went and said goodbye and showed their respect to Yasuko. They strolled to the Millennium Tower in all black. They really went in with a helicopter that flew 100 billion down the sky (which parallels to Akiyama with the Millennium Tower explosion) and all of them were so badass during that scene. Honestly, if I had that chance, I’d act cool too. Akiyama asking who fights who and they all seperate, ugh, love that. There’s also that part where Sudo and Date come back with a bunch of scoops for Munakata with Sudo scolding Date and Date not giving a fuck HAHAHA
Saejima has his own family now and watching him and Kiryu go to Daigo and Majima to do some yakuza work makes me happy. I thought if Haruka and Kiryu moved back to Kamurocho, who would take care of the kids at Sunflower/Morning Glory? I’m not sure if Mikio and the Ryudo Family are still there but I hope they are!
That leaves all of the things I can think of right now! I’ll go to sleep and watch the substories and all before moving onto the next! Yakuza 5 wouldn’t be that bad...Right? RIGHT? RIGHT?!-
#i hear that shit goes down at Yakuza 5#and i'm scared#WHAT WILL HAPPEN?!?!#yakuza 4#ryu ga gotoku#rgg#yakuza#boringchats#kiryu kazuma#goro majima#taiga saejima#yasuko saejima#masayoshi tanimura#shun akiyama#takeshi kido#daisaku minami

Share ten different favourite characters from ten different pieces of media in no particular order, then send this to 10 people (anon or not, your choice) 🎥🎬📺
got tagged by @sometimes-i-talk-a-lot !!!
no idea who to tag so feel free to do it
im not sure youre axtually supposed to talk about them a lot but i did start rambling on with most of them so its going under the read more
kakyoin from jojo's bizarre adventure - the funny gamer man :). i like how i managed to read/watch all of jojo but he still managed to be my favorite through it all. his backstory was just really relatable to me i guess.
Patches from the soulsborne games - hes just kind of a huge asshole everytime you meet but something about hearing his voice after he kicks you down a pit for the 10th time. A lot of it probably comes from his voice actor. he really sounds like hes enjoying himself every time he gets to voice him.
ichiban kasuga from yakuza like a dragon - hes just a very loveable guy. everything from the way he talks with his friends to the way he talks with everyday people makes him just easy to fall in love with. Its also nice seeing how despite what he goes through he still keeps his friendly personality
lady from devil may cry - shes really cool and i like her character a lot. her arc in the 3rd game is just really satisfying to follow from beginning to end. she doesnt get much in terms of story in 4 or 5 but i feel like her character is fine how she is and adding more would kinda take away from it. she did get a nice little moment in 5 though which i liked. Also its nice to know that in a series where all the other fighters have some form of demonic powers she is 100% human. And please capcom make her playable in 5!!!!!
Raiden from metal gear - My favorite boy whos been through so so much. I cant really talk about how i like him since that would mostly involve spoilers and would also make up multiple pages. In 2 i just like the way he develops throughout the story and how he finds meaning by the end. Hes also the protag of one of my favorite games metal gear rising revengance. Despite the over the top nature of the game i still think they did his character justice and its a nice extension of the story of 2 (though nothing compares to that imo)
Sans from undertale - Despite everything i still really like undertale, its world and its characters. And the funny bone man managed to still be my fav. His jokes and his mysterious nature all makes him really likable to me. His fight is pretty enjoyable too. also hes a skeleton so theres that.
Samus from Metroid - Basically everything i wish i was. Shes cool, strong and she still manages all of this without saying a whole lot. I especially like her body language in dread. pls just ignore how she is in other m....
Tienshinhan from dragon ball - this ones mostly an old favorite. he was my favorite charcater when i watched it as a kid and he still is. He just seemed really cool everytime he appeared. Still think its bullshit how he isnt considered the strongest human -3-
Bridget from guilty gear - this ones a very recent fav. i never really knew anything about her before she appeared in strive but she definitely made an impact on me. Something about seeing a trans girl accepting herself in a mainstream videogame just makes me really happy. Also her theme song is soooo good and is soooo relatable to me. Like yeah i also hate the alarm clock i chose and i also taste like vegetables i dont like. 😭
Aqua from kingdom hearts - Shes one of the more competend characters in the series. She isnt without flaws or anything but she definitely gets shit done when she wants to. Her fighting style is also really nice. And of course she has blue hair and pronouns 🙄

Manga Master List: Recommendations and My Personal Wish List
!!//PLEASE READ//!!
Below is every manga from my amazon wishlist I would recommend(as of February 11 2021) with a picture and a 3-5 sentence explanation of what the manga is about. Underneath will also be the number of volumes I have read, the number I own, and it’s status of ongoing or complete and how many volumes it has. This way you can decide for yourself if you think I have read enough of it to give an accurate recommendation.
This list only includes manga you can purchase (including digital purchases) from the wishlist. I decided that I would in fact include my personal amazon manga wishlist here and at the bottom for people to buy THEMSELVES a copy of any of these manga they would like. Keep in mind many of these won’t have volume 1 in the list but you should be able to get to the series page from the list. If a manga shows up on the amazon list that I did not include in this one that is because I have not read enough of them(or any of them) to recommend. Ok? Cool, enjoy the list!!
1. The Girl from the Other side is about a little girl living with a gentleman monster. It is a supernatural mystery with beautiful art.
Own: 0
Read 4
Series: Ongoing at 9 volumes
2. Pumpkin Scissors is a military fantasy about a War Veteran named Randal Oland who joins the pumpkin scissors core to help with war relief and uncover the deep corruption of the government. It is similar in themes to FMA in the sense it appears to be based on a World War, and corruption of government but it more focused on the power of the noble houses in government. There is also a fun science element but it is not as in focus as in FMA. The two but are very very different overall tho. Only 5 volumes were distributed in physical English copies as the publishing company went bankrupt, all others are only available digitally. (I couldn’t get the manga vol. 1 cover to work so the picture above is a poster for the anime)
Own: 0
Read: around 10
Series: Ongoing at 23 volumes
3. Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun is a slice of life about a bunch of highschoolers. Nozaki is the mangaka of a popular Shoujo manga who uses his personal experiences with friends to create his monthly comic series. It is a fun gender stereotype reversal manga with a large cast of both male and female characters (one could be HC as genderfluid but she’s still canonically female at this time) The manga is one of the easiest to read as the panels are mostly in straight down rectangles so the pages are extremely easy to follow and is very funny.
Own: 1
Read: 11
Status: Ongoing at 12 volumes
4. Yu-Gi-Oh! is well known to be about the card game yu-gi-oh, using magic and myths to further the story, HOWEVER, Yu-gi-oh! is the “Season 0″ of the series it is much darker than to be expected and there is no card game. The Yu-gi-oh most are familiar with is Yu-gi-oh Duelist (just found this out myself) and is the Yu-gi-oh you probably already know. There is no overarching plot to this mini series it is just Yugi fucking shit up playing games and destroying some bullies. I have yet to read any of Duelist as of the creation of this post therefore I cannot recommend it :/
Own: 5 (1-3 & 6-7)
Read: 7
Status: Completed at 7 volumes
5. The Way of the House Husband is about a former yakuza who gets married and flips his script. He becomes a house husband for his working wife and carries on doing chores and errands while still looking and acting scary unintentionally and getting himself in trouble. It is a slice of life comedy with some adult jokes but is over all extremely funny and pleasant to read.
Own: 0
Read: 2
Status: Ongoing at 7 volumes
6. Hikaru no Go is about a highschool boy who finds a haunted Go board. He meets the ghost who once was a prolific Go player. Together they work to become a world class Go champion meeting new people along the way. This series was cut short due to legal issues with a real Go player and therefore will remain unfinished but the story that is there is golden. It is still one of the most popular manga in Japan.
Own: 0
Read: 5
Status: Complete at 23 Volumes
7. Zatch Bell! This manga is about a teenager named Kiyo who gets sent a young boy with amnesia named Zatch Bell who turns out to be an alien called a momodo. Now the two must battle other momodo in order to understand what happened to Zatch and to make Zatch the new king. Along the way they make many friends and save both the momodo and human worlds. This one is difficult because it is a classic that did not do well in America so the volumes are expensive and the series is unfinished in English. You can only buy 27 of the volumes in English and a few of them are almost impossible to find, however it is well worth the money if you can afford it and it is available online.
Own: 6 (1-5 & 13)
Read: 15
Status: Complete at 33 Volumes only 27 printed in English (you can finish series online)
8. Fullmetal Alchemist is a cult classic most have read it, watched the series, or heard of it at the very least. This is one of the most popular Manga of all time and for good reason. The manga is about 2 brothers Alphonse and Edward on a journey to return their bodies to normal after committing the taboo of human transmutation. The manga has themes of racism, government corruption and manipulation of the military. The versions on my wishlist are the special Fullmetal Editions so they will have a different price point and volume number than the regular volumes or the omnibuses’
Own: 12
Read: 12
Status: Complete at 27 Volumes
9. Princess Jellyfish is about a young woman who is sort of an outcast otaku living with 5 other otaku women. She has a deep love for jellyfish as they remind her of her late mother. She meets a beautiful woman who turns out to be a male college student and slowly comes out of her shell making new friends and growing with old ones as well. This manga is very sweet and I really don’t know what else to say haha.
Own: 0
Read: 4
Status: Complete at 17 volumes
10. !!!HUGE TW FOR EATING DISORDERS!!! In Clothes Called Fat is a, oneshot, non romanticizing story of an office woman trying to lose weight and developing several eating disorders in the process. She goes through hardships in relationships and bullying as well. It has a bittersweet ending and should be read with caution but it is beautifully done. Please do not read this if you are under the age 16 at the very youngest there are NSFW moments as well as just generally not being a topic for younger audiences.
Own: No
Read: Yes
Status: Completed one shot
11. My LOVE Story!! Is an adorable Slice of Life shojo about a highschooler named Takeo Gouda, his girlfriend Yamato, and his best friend and hear throb Suna. This series is rather refreshing as the relationship starts pretty much immediately, the best friend is very supportive, and it is focused on Takeo’s personality over looks as he is often compared in manga to a gorilla or bear. It is a generally heart warming story with some emotional side plots. The ending is sort of sudden but it’s really enjoyable.
Own: 6 (1-3,8,10-12)
Read: 13
Status: Completed at 13 Volumes
12. Soul Eater is pretty popular but if you don’t know what it is about it is about a Weapon named Soul and his Meister Maka. They attend a school that teaches them how to defeat people before they turn into Demons, saving the world in the process. Once a weapon eats 100 evil souls and a witches soul they can become the new death Scythe! That is the plot presented, and it of course goes off into a much more complicated storyline. It is super fun and engaging with a fascinating plot near the end.
Own: 5
Read: 15
Status: Completed at 25 Volumes
13. D. Gray-Man is a little complicated. Similarly to Soul Eater D. Gray-Man is a story based around defeating people turned demon and the saving of the world through an organization, however the plot gets very complicated very quickly. The art is some of the most interesting and beautifully fun art I’ve come across and the characters are (so far as I’ve read) all amazing. The story has a lot of christian influence and is one you have to really keep up with to understand but I recommend it regardless!
Own: 10
Read: 10
Status: Ongoing at 27 Volumes
14. One-Punch Man is also very popular and is about a man who becomes so strong he only needs to punch you once to completely annihilate you, and it greatly annoys him. This manga greatly touches on the themes of self worth as Saitama becomes a hero that no one seems to want. The fights are fun and engaging, tho at times can be difficult to read. The art is gorgeous, with some of the most heavily detailed work I have ever seen.
Own: 3
Read: 7
Status: Ongoing at 21 Volumes
15. The Boy and The Beast is the manga adaptation of the movie by the same name. This is a bittersweet story about a boy who finds a family in the land of the beasts and the repercussions of this intermixing. It is sweet and sad and there’s not much else to say, but that it is a beautifully crafted story.
Own: 1
Read: 1 (but I’ve seen the movie and read the light novel)
Status: Complete at 4 Volumes
16. MAR is not a manga I should be recommending as I genuinely don’t think I have read enough of the story to do so but I love it so much I’m going to anyway. MAR is a classic Isekai Shonen, a kid goes through a door into another world and has to fight a war to save it, there is a super fun magic system and some wonderful story building with genuinely enjoyable characters and battles. I am recommending this more based off the anime than the manga itself because it was one of my absolute favorites when I was younger, so take from that what you will! This manga has the same issue Zatch Bell does however, the series did not do amazingly so the volumes can be expensive!
Own: 3
Read: 3
Status: Complete at 15 Volumes
Thank you for your time haha! I hope you liked the list, here is my wishlist again and if you have any questions please let me know!! I will try to keep this master list updated as it and the wishlist will only continue to grow, but I make no promises for doing it often. Making this took me a very long time so I hope you like it!

Tachibana Real Estate is a Good Company?
Minor Yakuza 0 Spoilers
Here’s a real quick little one, scratcher events are pretty straight forward since they always need to have some excuse for the scratchers, but it’s Y0 Kiryu and Oda!
Oda didn’t actually have a card till now, and this is the second full Y0 event. I have no idea why you get Patriarch Daigo as a reward, but I have a bunch of him now. My translation’s probably a little sloppier on this one than usual, but I don’t think I got anything too egregiously wrong.
Summary: Oda brings Kiryu along on a job to help him make up his mind on if he wants to work with Tachibana or not. A ramen shop with incredible food has hardly any customers thanks to yakuza interference, and they’re going to change that
1988, Kiryu is meeting up with Oda and getting a run down on the empty lot situation. The talk sprite for Kiryu really makes me laugh because it always looks like he’s aggressively not making eye contact or refusing to even face who he’s talking to
They’re doing a job in the champion district, Oda makes a dig at Kiryu being a Dojima Boy, Kiryu snaps back that he’s ex yakuza, thank you. Kiryu asks what exactly they’re doing here, Oda says this place has always had the best ramen in town but it’s been struggling.
Kiryu wonders if he’s just here to do a taste test, Oda says that if that were the case he could have done this solo, but he figured he’d treat Kiryu to some ramen too. Kiryu says he didn’t seem like the type, Oda calls him cute.
They get their ramen, Oda comments that the shop is pretty dingy so it’s not the place Kiryu would have gone on his own, right? Kiryu responds that appearances don’t really bother him as long as the foods good. He tries the ramen and...... it’s amazing! He wonders why the place is empty if it’s so good.
The owner, revealing that he’s been hearing all of this and embarrassing Kiryu, says that with how things are, he's really in the red. Oda offers to buy the land, and the owner agrees that now seems like the right time. Outside Oda has Kiryu speculate on why there's no customers. It's obviously not the flavor, and the bowls only cost 100 yen. Kiryu wonders how it could possible be empty, there must be foul play. Oda agrees, a yakuza family has been eyeing the land and there's a copy cat store now stealing customers. Oda wants to protect the champion district, so he's going to hold a scratcher event to get customers back. Kiryu's surprised that Tachibana would stick his neck out for a no name ramen place like this, but Oda says that it's just good management strategy. Kiryu asks if Tachibana told Oda all this directly, he says of course, and Kiryu wants to know Oda's personal opinion on if they should get involved. Oda says that normally he'd suggest just smashing the place and putting a brothel in instead, but he really likes the ramen--he eats there twice a week. Kiryu goes in to tell the manager that they'll be running the event tomorrow. He's a little worried it won't be enough to save the place, but Kiryu assures him. Unfortunately right after he leaves the patriarch from that yakuza family that's been pressuring him shows up and starts smashing the store up, and steal all the scratchers. Kiryu and Oda show up the next day, the owner is in the hospital and with the scratchers gone Oda is going to call off the event. Kiryu declares he'll get the scratchers back, and the event will still happen. He plans on storming the yakuza family's office, and Oda says he's going with. They get there, the guy plays dumb, and a fight breaks out.
<EVENT HAPPENS>
Kiryu and Oda kicked the shit out of that whole family--they grovelled and gave back the scratchers.
Kiryu checks back in on the ramen shop (some days later?) and the event is going great, the place is packed, and the owner is all healed up.
Kiryu relays this to Oda and is like "damn guess you guys aren't just money crazed jackasses after all". Oda's like "Pfft well, this is just business. We did this entirely to weaken the threat of the yakuza. Tachibana Real Estate always has it's eye on the long game", which Kiryu kind of laughs at, but doesn’t press it. Oda asks if he's made a decision and Kiryu says yeah, let's go meet Tachibana.

excerpts/tasting menu of upcoming works
You’re in luck anon because this past week my dumbass brain decided to start like 5 different fics and not finish any of them, so I have plenty of things to preview (specific CWs included with each individual section)
As always, encouragement goes a long way for my motivation, so if you see something you’re interested in, give it a shoutout!
Also, all of these are super rough ;///; please have mercy on my pitiable first-draft skills
[BNHA] Spoiled Rotten /// Overhaul x f!Reader
Summary: You’re daddy’s spoiled little princess, but unfortunately daddy’s got debts to the yakuza and Overhaul’s going to make you work them off the hard way.
Warnings: restraints, kidnapping, harassment, drugging
“Do you know why you’re here?”
Against your will, your eyes flip up to the speaker. He’s the only one sitting, and somehow that gives him a position of power among the others. The leader?
Golden eyes rest steadily on yours, and you realize he’s waiting for your answer, so you slowly move your head from side to side.
“Didn’t know about daddy’s bad habits, huh?” This time the person speaking is behind you—the one who untied your blindfold, a thin man with lank, greasy blond hair. He’s the one who drugged me, you remember in a surge of panic, and you try to shift away from him only for him to step on the chain that connects your cuffs, jerking you back and pinning you in place.
“Careful, Setsuno. I told you not to leave marks. Let her talk.”
“Got it, boss.” The blond—Setsuno—fumbles at the back of your head and then he’s pulling the gag out of your mouth.
You open and close your mouth a few times to stretch out the stiff muscles. “Oh my gosh, was that polyester you just took out of my mouth? Do you have any idea how bad synthetics are for sensitive skin? I’m totally going to break out.”
A hush falls over the little room. You could hear a pin drop.
“…Are you complaining about the quality of the fabric we gagged you with?” the leader asks after a beat.
“You may be gangsters, but you don’t have to act like savages,” you reply primly, aligning your knees together and sending a proud look off to the side.
“Ohh…little princess deserves better, does she?” Setsuno coos. He edges closer to rub his cheek against yours and laughs when you flinch back from him. “Boss, you shoulda seen her bedroom. All pink and frilly, looked like royalty lived there. Bet they treat you like a real princess at home, huh? No wonder your daddy’s in debt.”
[BNHA] Sweet Tooth /// Bakugou x f!Reader
Summary: Pro hero AU—Your boss Ground Zero is an insufferable prick, but you just can’t get enough of the way he smells.
Warnings: none? arguing?
“Do you hear me? I don’t want you here. I don’t want you as my assistant. You can call yourself my ‘administrative support’ but you and I both know you’re a glorified janitor here to clean up my messes and I. Don’t. Want. You.” There’s a muffled bang and then the air is permeated with the acrid stench of burning. You don’t even have to look down to know that the papers (the report you spent three days of unpaid overtime trying to finish in the hopes that maybe this would convince him that you’re on his side) are going up in smoke.
And okay, you slip a little bit. Who can blame you?
“Well guess what, Katsuki? I don’t want you either.” You step as much closer to him as you can manage without literally touching him and jab your index finger into his chest—see how he likes it when you get up in his personal space. “I got placed here. I didn’t choose this. I don’t want to work for a temperamental brat who doesn’t know how to be appreciative of his staff, so the feeling’s mutual. So how about you shut up and let me do my job before the Commission decides you’re too much of a liability to let you run wild any longer?”
Bakugou sneers. He’s clearly not intimidated in the least, and dear god do you want to wipe that smug look off his face. “If you’re the best tactic the Commission’s got, they know they can’t touch me. I’m the number two hero—“
“—and you’re the number one expense when it comes to damage control and repairs. Seriously, do you think Deku goes around blowing up government buildings every other week? I’d kill to be at his agency instead of yours.”
“It was one stupid post office, and no one was hurt—“ Bakugou stops in the middle of his rebuttal and scarlet eyes narrow at you. “Wait. Deku? You’re saying you’d rather work for shitty Deku?”
He says it like the alias is an insult, and you frown. As a long-time admirer of Deku’s, you feel the instant impulse to come to his defense. “Of course I’d rather work for the top pro hero. Maybe if you weren’t so hot-headed you’d win a popularity contest once in a while.”
Uh-oh. Looks like you struck a nerve.
Bakugou leans into you and now you’re the one who has to shuffle back to keep your distance. He looks—well, murderous is a little too terrifying, so you’re going to go with pissed. Light shimmers out in harmless sparkles over his palms (it would be pretty if it wasn’t so foreboding) and the accompanying crackles make you shiver, but you hold the determined look on your face. He’s so close you can smell the fresh sharpness and witch hazel in his aftershave and under that—
—huh. It’s weird, but there’s a really sweet, really rich scent. Like…what is it? It’s wrong, out of place. Your brain is convinced that it’s not supposed to be there, so you can’t identify it. Without thinking, you inhale roughly, trying to get a better sense of the mouth-watering smell.
[BNHA] Runaways /// Dabi x f!Reader
Summary: Yandere—You were like an older sister to Dabi back when the two of you were teen runaways together; now that he’s found you as an adult, he’s never letting you leave again.
Warnings: unsafe piercing practices, don’t do this at home kids
When you turn your head like that, Dabi can see the tiny dots running up the side of your ear where your old piercings have scarred over from lack of use. Do you remember when he gave them to you? You did his first, running a needle through the lonely flame of your lighter (he offered to use his quirk, but it was still hard for him to control then so you declined) and then threading the metal through his ear. You promised it would only hurt for a second, and you were right, so he let you do the others.
Then, you’d offered to let him give you one. Just one on each ear—you already had an impressive collection of piercings, but you wanted to let him return the favor, so he did it. You were older than him and more experienced and had lived on the streets for longer, so when he held the needle in his hand and you told him you trusted him, it was the first time he’d ever thought of you as fragile, something delicate, something that he was capable of harming.
He’d chosen twin helix piercings for you, cresting the shell of each ear, silver band rings to match his. When they were done you’d pulled him to a mirror and asked him what he thought. It’d been a while after the worst burns on his face, the ones under his eyes and wrapping around his chin and down his neck, and he was still getting used to the knowledge that the wrinkled purple-red scars were never going to heal. “I look like…” he’d started.
A monster. A freak. A victim.
“A badass,” you’d said. “You look fucking cool. Any asshole who wants to pick a fight with you will take one look and know you’ve been through worse shit than whatever they can dish out, and that’s something to be proud of.”
Now that Dabi thinks about it, he probably wanted you even then.
[KNY] Moonrise /// Kokushibou x f!Reader
Summary: A shrine maiden is spirited away by a demon posing as a land god.
Warnings: references to Shinto religion
“Look up there, up in the mountains behind our shrine,” your grandmother told you. “Do you see the place where the earth rises into the clouds? Our kami lives there, in the boundary between the physical world and the celestial one, higher than any human can reach.”
You stopped crying just long enough to follow the direction of her gaze, staring into the hazy mist in the mountains beyond your village. “Kokushibou lives in the woods?” The idea of your supposedly beloved deity living off the land like a wild animal was unsettling to you.
The anxiety was obvious in your voice, but your grandmother just laughed and patted your hair. “In the woods, yes, but the legends tell us he lives in a mansion fit for an emperor. His house is so fine that our little temple could fit inside it a dozen times.”
“Does he live there all by himself? Isn’t he lonely?”
“Kokushibou may be alone, but he spends his days watching our village. He has three pairs of eyes so that he may look upon the human world, the heavens, and his own affairs without changing his gaze.” Your grandmother pointed to one of the stone carvings that had scared you earlier (the one you thought was so demonic with so many eyes in its face) and her wrinkled lips curled up in a smile that made her look like a girl again. “Can I tell you a secret?”
You nodded yes, too enthralled in the tale to remember that you’d been upset.
“Once when my aunt—your great grandmother’s sister—was young, Kokushibou came down from his mountain to watch her perform her kagura dance. When she first met his eyes she was afraid, but her fear only lasted a moment, for although he was fierce in temperament his face was as beautiful as the full moon.”
Your mouth dropped open. “Did she say anything to him?”
“No, he disappeared before she could speak to him. But she told me she always regretted not being able to thank him for what he does for our village.”
“But what does he do? For our village?”
Your grandmother’s rough hands closed over your small ones, pulling them to her mouth so she could place a tender kiss upon them. “Kokushibou protects us. In other towns like ours there are criminals, raids…even attacks from demons and other creatures of darkness. Our village is peaceful because the evil fears retribution from kami.”
“So he takes care of us?”
“Yes, all of us.”
“Even me?”
“Even you, little one.”
[Haikyuu] Fanatic pt. 3 /// Oikawa x f!Reader
Summary: Oikawa takes advantage of a devoted fan for some stress relief after a bad match (…and then other stuff happens, see [part 1] and [part 2])
Warnings: implied smut?, 18+, implied dubcon??, degradation
“Wait!” you gasp out again, craning your neck to meet his gaze as best you can from over your shoulder (still without the nerve to pick your hands up off the glass or move your ass away from him). “Wait, we can’t—we shouldn’t, it’s wrong—“
We can’t. It’s wrong. Oikawa rolls your words around in his head and almost wants to laugh again—and he would, if he weren’t so focused on the fact that in a few seconds, he’s going to get what he’s ben wanting for months. You’re perfect, still his dutiful little cheerleader, still so deeply in denial that you can’t even say that he can’t, he shouldn’t, he’s wrong. None of this is your responsibility, but you’re acting like it’s a decision you’re making together. Because you want it too, he knows, he’s sure of it. Just like all his other vapid fans, you’re the same except you’re lucky, because he’s about to give it to you.
“Yeah, it’s wrong.” His voice is low and so close to your ear that you can feel the steam of his breath splay out over the skin of your cheek. “It’s wrong…you’re so sick, wanting it like this. So dirty, my sick little slut, let me make it better. I’ll make it all better, hm? Just stay put and—take it.”
A/N: I also wrote a bunch of iwcb pt. 3 but I really hate what I wrote so I might have to rewrite it, pray for me :(

Hey! You ever end up doing essay on the kazumaji gifs? (I'm highly interested because it's always majima o' clock where I live)
it’s always majima o’clock here too; maybe we live in the same area... but lmao i didnt write the essay on my kazumaji gifs because i didnt think anyone would want to hear it so i meant it more as a per request kind of deal. and you’re requesting. I want you to know you did this to yourself, my friend
below the read more for everyone’s well being. welcome to my first official majima analysis essay
ok so in those tags i said something like majima is softest with kiryu because it is absolutely the truth (unless you count makoto, which i love them too, but majima has moved on or at least is making an effort to. and that was pre-tacky snake skin jacket and pre-mad dog persona.)
the prompt for the gifset was “maybe something about majima being stupid and unhinged but like, in a sweet way” and the whole point of this rambling is that kiryu is really the only one we see who causes the mad-dog persona to slip. kiryu says he can never get a read on majima but just because he is unpredictable doesn’t mean he doesn’t understand that he isn’t just batshit crazy. he trusts majima, and finds comfort in his lack of predictability, keeping kiryu’s life exciting and providing distraction from the insane amount of tragic shit that happens to kiryu. and majima has a similar experience of idolizing the yakuza lifestyle as teens/young adults only to have the yakuza drag them through hell. But this is supposed to be about Majima.
ANYWAY what GETS ME is again that mad-dog vibe slipping around kiryu. the only time we really only see it again is with Saejima when he comes back from jail. i’m gonna talk about that later too. LET’s GET TO THE GIFS i’m going in chronological order not the order i put them in
1)
Ok so as an audience, we don’t really know what happened between Kiryu and Majima between Yakuza Zero and Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami. Yes, we get that tiny ending scene of Majima going KIRYU-CHAN for the first time and Kiryu smiling at him. But we are given nothing as to how they met or why Majima started calling him Kiryu-chan. It is left completely to the audience’s interpretation. Because then it goes straight to the first scene with Majima in Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami after Kiryu gets out of jail. It implies that they already knew each other, and arguably that they were somewhat close -- close enough for Majima to “miss him.” (What was majima doing for those 10 years, i don’t know, but he clearly wasn’t in a great place, missing both kiryu, makoto, and saejima, we ignore y5 lore in this household or make up shit to fill in the giant gaps) You could argue that Majima missing Kiryu is just Majima being “crazy haha woah” but his character is so much deeper than that, and it’s proven in this gif’s scene. Yes he is fighting Kiryu with all his men. But if you are reading this you understand that them fighting physically all the time is a secret love language. They never intend to severely hurt each other. Fighting is how they know that they have an equal, someone else who was modeled into a weapon because of the Tojo Clan.
And yes, “He belongs to me!” is an extremely gay thing to say. He doesn’t even need to say that, though. One of his men didn’t understand that he doesn’t actually want to hurt Kiryu. The guy picked up Majima’s knife and tried to actually hurt Kiryu. Majima willingly gets stabbed so Kiryu doesn’t get hurt. That’s a handful of gay subtext right there. Majima’s first scene in y1 is about how the world is a horrible, shitty place that will chew you up and spit you out if you care. Then he goes and gets stabbed. Self-sacrificially. He cares about Kiryu, even if it hurts.
2)
This one isn’t as deep. It stems of the same concept of them fighting each other as equals. Majima explicitly says more than once that strength is the most admirable trait, Goromi says that it only matters that a man is strong. Kiryu is the only person who presents a challenge to him. He admires him.
3)
(As a disclaimer, I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with Goromi. I’ve also seen a lot of non-binary, gender-fluid, etc. people project on Goromi and Majima, and I feel like that can only be a good thing. Obviously they deserve more and more quality representation. I think the people who dislike Goromi are valid as well, but for the sake of this argument we are going to see Goromi as the people who project on her do and I’m going to use she/her pronouns when talking about Goromi.)
Regardless on your stance on this whole little side quest, the player has the choice to go along with Goromi which creates actually a lot of subtle connecting between the two of them. Even in just talking to her, we see the mad-dog mask slip. She talks about how much she cared about the girls at Club Shine and wonders how they’re doing. Literally says “all part of my tragic-ass backstory.” And Kiryu sympathizes with it. Says he sees through the “i hated it” bullshit and sees Majima/Goromi’s true self, which is that the cabaret job was hard for Majima because he cared about the women and didn’t like using them as a source of income and knew it would be his fault if they got hurt.
Also, Goromi says that "When I’m with a guy, it’s all about if I’m having enough fun. That’s why he’s gotta be strong.” Sound like someone we know? Someone who we are talking about in the last gif with i-just-got-the-shit-beat-out-of-me-and-it-was-awesome bliss on his face?
Anyway, the scene in the gif is near the end of the session. Kiryu is talking about how he’s been in prison for 10 years, and Goromi says that now that he’s out he should try to relax and and a little fun. Arguably, “since you’re so lonely right now, I’m gonna give ya a hand!” is most of Majima’s role in YK1. Kiryu gets out of prison. Majima wants to fight him all the time and says it’s because he’s gone soft and needs to train. Majima Everywhere presents excitement in his life when everything else is hard and shitty and traumatizing. Yes, Majima kidnapped Haruka. But there isn’t a lot of info on that. Majima says he did it so they could fight but it very likely could have been an order from the Tojo Clan or even Nishiki. Until he develops a bond with Haruka, Majima is, in a way, all he has. Nishiki is mean now. Yumi is ???. Kazama is i don’t even remember but he certainly isn’t any emotional support. He’s lonely. Majima is the only person he has from before prison, and quite possibly the only person who understands what he is going through.
4)
YK2, Kiryu has yeeted out of Majima’s life as Kiryu does, but he’s trying to protect haruka so I’ll let it slide. And what does Majima do now that Kiryu’s not there? Leaves the Tojo Clan. Yes it’s because he doesn’t like the 5th chairman’s style and to make up for Kawamura, but the point is he’s bored. The use of “MY Kiryu-chan” is obviously written there because “haha majima he’s crazyyy” but come on. Majima left the Tojo Clan after Kiryu stepped down as the 4th chairman. Because he was bored. Because he couldn’t trust his own men. The only person he considered an equal just wasn’t there anymore and he found it difficult to adjust. (That’s YEARNING, fellas)
So yes, HIS Kiryu-chan came home, but what is home in this context? It clearly isn’t the tojo clan, so I guess it could be Kamurocho in general. But if the clan doesn’t make it home, what does make it home? Perhaps a certain triangle shaped man??
5)
Oh boy silly Majima wants to fight Kiryu again hahaha weeeeeeeee NO listen, LISTEN, he does want to fight kiryu again, because 1) the man has been bored for a year 2) FIGHTING IS THEIR LOVE LANGUAGE 3) Majima is once again surprising Kiryu in a world where nothing surprises him anymore, where kiryu expects people to be vile and only want him for gain. Every single goddamn game it’s “Kiryu plz save the Tojo Clan plz” and Kiryu NEVER gets anything in return unless you count, i don’t know, Daigo and Haruka’s safety? But Majima doesn’t give a shit about any of that. Majima is one of the only people who consistently does things for Kiryu (even if they’re presented in an abnormal way). Majima is really the only one who makes sacrifices for Kiryu. But this fight, it kicks off YK2 of “hey, i missed you but i won’t admit it because we’re manly yakuza, please let me try to make you smile.”
6)
THE kazumaji scene. Going off of Majima being the only one to make sacrifices for Kiryu, here’s a perfect example. Majima first aids the Tojo Clan which he swore to leave literally only because Kiryu asked him to. Then, here, he get beaten within an inch of his life because he promised Kiryu he would protect Kamurocho from Ryuji. Majima does not give a shit about the Tojo Clan at this point. Yes, Majima LOVEEESSSS beating people up, but he’s fatally wounded. This is not a Majima who would die for the Tojo Clan. This is a Majima willing to die for Kiryu. After warning Kiryu about being to trusting, too.
And of course, we get the Majima collapsing on the pavement and Kiryu rushing in to CRADLE him in his arms like a damn fanfic. You’ve even got the “I did it for you” which everyone knows is basically an “I love you.” Look at Majima’s face in the gif. Bless the Kiwami 2 graphics, first of all. He’s looking at Kiryu like he wants him to be the last thing he sees, like he wants him to know that he’s going out for Kiryu, that despite the fact that he’s about to cough up blood he needs Kiryu to have the information he needs to save the clan and Kamurocho. He’s telling Kiryu all this with labored breath because he promised. Kiryu “One-Expression” Kazuma is viably worried as hell, the little nod in the gif kills me because Kiryu needs him to know he’s touched and he’s so grateful. The only reason Kiryu left him was because there was danger elsewhere and he trusts Kaoru enough to take care of him. (Side note: I love Kaoru Sayama, but I still feel like she’s good enough a character on her own and doesn’t need to be a romantic interest for Kiryu. Like it was like oh... she’s Girl so she needs to fall for the Big Strong Male Protag.... If Majima was a cis girl they would have made out in this game, maybe even y1.)
7) Speaking of sacrifices, Yakuza 3, the game where Majima literally joined the Tojo Clan again because Kiryu wanted him to protect Daigo. That’s a huge lifestyle change, Majima.
Yes, this scene is funny because Majima is riding in a Barbie-ass truck like a 15 year old driving on a learner’s permit in a downpour (yet proves he can drive stick seconds later) and thinks he hit Kiryu while he purposely hit everyone else. Look, Majima needs this ok y3 he looks like he’s been crying since kiryu left no one No One is going to hurt Kiryu now
That truck is likely stolen, he’s driving erratically as fast as he can because Kiryu is in danger, how did he even know that Kiryu was in danger is it like some kind of 6th sense... If you didn’t already know, I would take a bullet for Majima’s voice actor; his delivery of “Kiryu-chan! Where are you?!” could have just been like haha oops kiryu did i hit you ;3 but instead it’s this raw cry of genuine panic, like did his actions get kiryu hurt, Majima could not live with himself if he was the reason Kiryu got fatally hurt
8) Ok I’ve hinted at the fact that I have beef with the Hot Mess that is yakuza 5, wasn’t huge on Y4 and Y6 was fine but it was heavily based on the events of Y5. In my head I’ve got an entire fix-it fanfic in which Majima yeets out to Okinawa with Kiryu after Y3 I could write that upon request too ANYWAY here’s another sacrificial majima...
Despite not caring for Y5, THIS SCENE is RAW. Maybe he’s not super “unhinged” in this scene but it’s just so much. Majima, who Kiryu brokedown in his taxi bc he thought he got killed (because Kiryu made him stay in the tojo clan haha we’re out here crying), chooses Kiryu over Saejima. Saejima, Majima’s oath brother, Saejima. We love Saejima, Majima loves Saejima, but 25 years is a long ass time. Majima changed. Saejima changed. For awhile he had Makoto, but then Kiryu was all Majima had for a good chunk of Saejima’s time in prison. This is the man Majima got his eye stabbed out for defending. But the BaD GuYs that arent memorable enough for me to even look up the names of are like look, we want to watch the world burn because we are Bad Guys, so either you are going to fight your brother to the death or we are going to snipe Kiryu’s daughter in the fucking head. Obviously he doesn’t know that Baba is going to betray them, so he has to pick between Saejima and Haruka. He chooses to potentially kill Saejima for Kiryu’s happiness. I’m sure if things didn’t change, Majima would have held back and let Saejima kill him. Majima would rather die than see Kiryu in pain. Majima would rather kill Saejima/let Saejima kill him than let Haruka die. If that’s not a giant declaration of unconditional love and devotion, I don’t know what else to tell you.
Anyway, thanks so much for indulging me and listening to my yakuza opinions if you made it this far you the mvp :’’’’)
#i can't believe i sat down and wrote this monster#thank you so much for the ask#i love talking about majima and i have no one to discuss it with#distinguishedkingdomwolf#ask#kazumaji

Rumors About Ospreay + Unrest In The NJPW Locker Room; Government Adds Okinawa to State Of Emergency, Another Extension Possible; Quick Review of DSOTR Collision In Korea; Shota Umino News!; Ren Narita on Dark Elevation; Satoshi Kojima In Impact Next Week
Strap in because this is going to be a long one.
There are rumors and reports coming out now (mostly from one source, the Voices of Wrestling website, from behind a Patreon paywall) that Will Ospreay's injury may not be what it seems, and there is growing discontent to the point of "mutiny" among the non-Japanese wrestlers regarding the state of emergency, the last-minute decision to resume touring when some were already travelling out of Japan, and the constant need for quarantining when coming back into Japan. Unfortunately this is as much as I can say, because this is behind a paywall, so until it gets made for public consumption I’m kinda limited in what I can say.
I can totally buy that all is not well within NJPW, especially after the COVID-19 bubble has burst. I've already discussed the creative malaise happening in the company right now. That there seems to be backstage dissent shows possible signs of trouble ahead for the promotion, and this golden period that we've been accustomed to is well and truly over. (I mean, it already was once lockdown happened, but they did the best they could, in my honest opinion, including a Pretty Good if not great WK15. Right now, creatively, we are below 2nd-half 2018 levels of poor.) But NJPW has weathered these storms before, although not with a global pandemic looming over everything. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that Ospreay is indeed injured, because a) they haven't exactly been shy about wrestlers being injured and needing to vacate titles before b) if Ospreay is legit injured, he is far more likely to receive treatment as a citizen of the UK from the (somehow still alive if not totally hobbled by Brexit) NHS, as opposed to Japan's healthcare system which is far more like the US model. Some wrestlers are swearing up and down he is injured, from the rumors. Ospreay certainly hasn’t said anything in his own words, beyond RTing NJPW’s announcement of his injury and vacating the title, and posting a pic of himself kissing the belt. RevPro kinda sorta said something but were also pretty vague. But for an injury suffered on 5/4/2021, this pic posted on 5/18 does not look like someone who just had such a severe neck injury they need to fly back to the UK (mind you, it COULD have been taken much earlier than that). Indeed, Ospreay’s still-active Twitter is more focused on Hana Kimura at the moment*. All this said, professional wrestling by it’s very nature has a baked-in amount of bullshit as part of it, so that this injury might be phony is always a distinct possibility.
It is utterly believable there is conflict between wrestlers and management, and communication is piss-poor at best. It is also believable that NJPW and Bushiroad are only taking their cues from a government Hell-bent on holding an Olympics an overwhelming majority of those polled are against, and who are treating the extended state of emergency as a vague suggestion rather than as a, you know, state of emergency. Pretending everything is hunky dory hasn't worked so far, so not sure why NJPW, nor the Japanese government, think eventually it will. (And NOAH is on my shit list right now too.) On that note, the government has now officially added Okinawa to the state of emergency. There is also talk that it will be extended further, as a government subcommittee member is quoted in the article as saying “it is difficult to think” that it will be lifted on 5/31/2021. Among that talk is word that Tokyo particularly will be under a stricter lockdown if this goes on. On a piece of actual GOOD news, it has been announced that the government has approved both the Moderna and AstraZeneca versions of the vaccine, so perhaps the vaccination rates will start to go up at last.
* - The anniversary of Hana Kimura’s tragic death is tomorrow (5/23/2021). I still sometimes struggle with the idea she is gone. Tonight at 10:30pm EDT (which is 5/23/2021 12:30pm in JST), FITE TV will be showing a live Hana Kimura tribute show put on by her mother, Kiyoko Kimura. Have a look in if you can
I was able to watch the Vice Dark Side Of The Ring episode on Collision in Korea, the two-night joint NJPW & WCW show from May Day Stadium in Pyongyang, North Korea, on 4/28 & 4/29/1995, as it aired Thursday. It will hit YouTube here pretty soon. I am working on a podcast project about this documentary, and the (WCW version of the**) show itself, with the good lads at the Days Of Thunder podcast, so I won't talk too much here, but I will say a few things about it:
I did appreciate the detail here, as well as being able to get an interview with Antonio Inoki for this, especially as he was the principal driver of this show happening. I did also like that they took time to detail Inoki's mentor, and the "father of puroresu," Rikidozan, who himself was a North Korean national by birth. I did not appreciate the mythical pathos they added to the death of Rikidozan, which by all accounts was a random street fight with yakuza over a perceived insult (stepping on Rikidozan's shoe). I also felt they could have done a better job explaining the situation between Japan and North Korea at the time. When the event was first proposed to the NJPW roster, Scott Norton recounts Masahiro Chono telling Norton that "they want us dead," but it took until introducing former CNN foreign correspondent Mike Chinoy nearly halfway through the documentary to (briefly) explain the brutal colonialism that Japan wreaked on North Korea in the first part of the 20th century.
Also, as salacious as DSOTR can get, I am very surprised one of the most famous rumors/stories about this show did not get discussed, the internet wrestling legend that Kensuke Sasaki and Akira Hokuto were, erm, Quite Vocal when they were together, which of course did eventually lead to their marriage four months later which continues to this very day. But that was also part of another critique I had, which is, they mainly focused on the WCW part of the events, when this was an NJPW promoted show. The way it was told on DSOTR, the only Japanese wrestlers there were Antonio Inoki, Shinya Hashimoto, Akira Hokuto and Bull Nakano. I'd love to hear more from the NJPW side of things, besides how proud Inoki was of this political stunt that did not get him re-elected to the Diet anyway.
Overall, I do recommend watching this when and how you can, because it is absolutely bonkers. I will definitely keep you posted on when the podcast project for this drops. ** - I've tried looking for the NJPW version and have failed so far. NJPWWorld only has two matches from this, Antonio Inoki v. Ric Flair, and Akira Hokuto v. Bull Nakano. The WCW version is not officially released, even on WWE Network, so yeah search the internet to see it.
We finally have an update on Shooter! That is, Shota Umino. Earlier in the week, RevPro's official Twitter had a tweet saying This Summer, showing Umino in not only his white/pink Tanahashi-esque tights, but holding his Death Riders jacket from Jon Moxley, that Shota retweeted, making this his first tweet since September 2019. Two days later, a hype video appeared with footage of Shooter, including performing Death Rider. Now a Sports Illustrated article is claiming that Shooter was supposed to have reunited with Mox on the NJPW Strong episode that had Mox & Chris Dickinson face Yuji Nagata & Ren Narita, but Umino had an unspecified injury preventing that. (They further say that Mox v. Nagata’s IWGP US title match was originally set for Strong but Tony Khan convinced NJPW to hold it on AEW Dynamite.) Umino's last match listed on Cagematch was on 3/14/2020 in ATTACK! Wrestling in Cardiff, Wales, on the winning side of a 6-man tag match with Kyle Fletcher & Kid Lykos II defeating Shigehiro Irie, Chief Deupty Dunne & Los Federales Santos, Jr. It's great to have him back wrestling again, and I hope we get that reunion with Moxley soon enough too.
As an update to an item from an earlier post, it appears that the Ren Narita v. Royce Isaacs match that was teased but then not aired on AEW Dark this past Tuesday will actually be on AEW Dark: Elevation this coming Monday instead. Also part of that will be approximately 35 other matches (I only slightly kid), one of those being Rocky Romero v. JD Drake. This usually drops on YouTube at 7pm EDT / 6pm CDT Mondays.
This past Thursday on Impact, a video package showed that Satoshi Kojima would be appearing on next week's episode. This will be Kojima's first time ever wrestling in Impact under any name, as the last time NJPW and TNA were working together, Kojima was still away in All Japan Pro Wrestling. No word as to what he will be doing or whom he will be wrestling.
Also on Impact, Juice Robinson & David Finlay Jr. successfully defended the Impact World Tag Team titles against Ace Austin & Madman Fulton... before getting blindsided by two members of the Violent By Design unit (in this case, ECW veteran Rhino and former AJPW Triple Crown champion + cancer beater Joe Doering) with whatever Impact's version of a Anytime Anywhere Challenge is, and took the belts from FinJuice. They claimed FinJuice were going back to Japan, but, erm, who knows if that's the case or if it was for a time period when Wrestle Grand Slam was still a thing that was happening.
Also also, it seems Don Callis is no longer in any executive capacity at Impact. This is a little significant as it seems it was Callis who opened the negotiations back up for Impact to work with NJPW. Of course, lately he's spent more time as an on-screen heel manager for Kenny Omega, the Good Brothers and now the Young Bucks on both AEW and Impact programming. We'll see how much longer Kenny Omega's belt collector shtick goes on for with Callis no longer part of creative or management.
And that is actually it for now! Yipes!

Oh gosh i literally LOVE your analysis thank you. And what about Majima??
Awww, thank you very much ^^; I’ve been having a good time writing these, I”m glad people are enjoying them. And everybody’s free to ask for seconds too, if interested. *breathes deep* Hoo boy, you pulling out the big guns there. Okay lads, settle down, it’ll be awhile.
character: hate them | don’t really care | like them | LOVE them | THEY ARE MY PRECIOUS
I would give my life for Majima Goro. But I won’t because that would trigger him to fuck and back. Best boy, golden son, I am mad fucked up about him. I don’t even have time to explain all my feelings about Majima fucking Goro. You can tell because I can’t go a single fucking post without mentioning him. *whispers* I love him.
ship with: Y’know how sometimes things are popular and you don’t get why? This is not one of those times. It’s cliche, but Kiryu Kazuma is the popular option here For A Reason. Like, I started Zero not knowing a fucking thing about Yakuza, as I think many do. And I wasn’t at all sure how Majima and Kiryu were going to be with each other, I had heard that they were the going ship and that seemed legit enough. Kiryu’s a nice boy, Majima’s a nice boy, they’d probably get on. But you make it through Zero and they don’t meet, not even once. They vaguely hear about each other and if they thought enough about it, they’d probably figure out that each other was holding the other half of their story, but there’s only that 5 second meeting in the epilogue, after the entire game is already fucking over and... Oh Shit.
That, my many gendered gentry, was an imprinting in live time.
But first, let’s back up a second, because I bet you’re all wondering about the Other important love in Majima’s life. So Makoto, Makoto... As I discussed in my Saejima post, after Anagura, Majima is living to die. That’s it, that’s his only goal in life, to get back into Tojo and wait there so his brother knows where to find him when he comes to kill him. He’s not looking for any other attachments in life. Because that’s the way Majima loves, body and soul, his whole existence dedicated around one thing. And he’s already signed himself up for sacrificing himself as repayment for Saejima’s sins and wasted years in prison. But then this... tragedy happens. This hit that isn’t a hit, this villain that’s really a victim. Everything goes wrong and Majima is left with do I commit the unthinkable to shorten my wait for my brother or do I forgo my brother’s rightful revenge to save this innocent? And Majima can’t. He can’t.
He could never kill and he can’t turn his back on someone who needs help. And she does need him, specifically, there’s no one else. Anyone else couldn’t be trusted, or if they can be trusted, they’re dead. Majima is the only person he and Makoto can trust so he’s just here, doing his best, trying to keep her alive in the face of everything he wants and all the power and hate the underworld of Japan can offer. He would sacrifice his one goal of staying alive for his brother if it means keeping Makoto safe. Is that love? Oh yes, but not the livable kind. You don’t come back from that kind of dedication. Majima loves Makoto as gods love: completely. It is without judgment and without reason. That’s not the love of one finite person to another finite person, admitting, exploring, and cherishing all the flaws and limits therein, it’s not even the love of a parent to a child or vice versa. It is infinite love, all-consuming and all-destroying. It is not cognizant of personality, worthiness, or risk. It just is. In many ways, Majima does not know Makoto, he doesn’t see her, neither, ironically, does she see him. These are not two equals of mutual interest enjoying who each other is. This is a far less personal and far more profound experience. It’s like a calling, a quest. And it’s not something a stable relationship can be built on because it doesn’t actually have anything to do with who Makoto is in her day-to-day life or who Majima is in his embodied, finite experience. This is love as a philosophical point, as a moral decision.
It is the greatest thing I’ve seen in my life that he lets her go. That sort of love will destroy you if you let it, it crushes your existence, your personality and sense of self, entirely into that of another. And you can’t live as a part of someone else, you cannot actually live for someone else, not sustainably, no matter how badly you want to. It’s the strongest thing I’ve ever seen done that Majima has the power to walk away from her and walk away from that sweet, blinding death. To choose a finite, flawed, embodied, but his own individual existence rather than let himself be consumed in an idea. And that they walk away from each other where they can both survive it. Where the idea of what was and what might have been doesn’t drive them into despair of all earthly, finite joys. Because who would choose to have a normal, dirty, working life where you are required each day to be an individual with your own wants and desires that are spurned and rewarded by turns of luck rather than the pure, golden existence of perfect moral agape? And I’m so glad that they walked away before they could be blinded by it, again, ironically enough.
But the fact that Majima is capable of that level of love is truly terrifying. And then how fascinating that he walks away from it. That he chooses a harder, darker life that will have the normal range of joys and disappointments. The restraint it takes. The incredible, unbending sense of self and to decide that there are selfish, individual things worth caring about, even if you had the chance to become selfless for the rest of your life. I don’t think we talk about or think about that Majima walking away there was a moral choice. He wasn’t walking away from happiness, he was walking towards a different happiness. And, most importantly of all, even though he is still waiting to be killed by his brother, the fact that he walked away means that Majima is much healthier and much less self-destructive than he was at the beginning of Zero. He could have escaped it all if he went with her. But he doesn’t. And that fucking blows my mind.
I love that Majima grows after Zero. That his absolute nihilism changes as he allows himself to care about people again, maybe even care about himself again. Especially after Shimano’s death, he starts to develop relationships and things that he cares about as soon as it is safe to do so. He decides that he isn’t going to waste away waiting for his brother, he will live in this time, even if it has an expiration date. He will build something he cares about. And I think, in no small part, knowing Kiryu gives him the courage and the will to do so.
Because Kiryu is this shooting star in the dark night of Majima’s world. He is this mighty pillar standing amidst slag and waste. Kiryu does things that are right because they are right, with no thought to his own gain or risk. Kiryu does things that are right at tremendous personal risk and will fight through people trying to stop him. And Kiryu will win. Not only does Kiryu agree with the way Majima thinks and feels but, mother of god, eh actually has the power and strength to survive.
Think about that. You’re Majima Goro and every day since you became yakuza, you have been kicked down, tortured, and abused just because you wanted to do the right thing. You have watched countless friends, allies, and enemies be shot and killed in front of you because they were trying to do the right thing. You have no choice but to do right in the secret places of your heart, to do good only in ways that can never be traced back to you, in ways no one would confuse for being good, kind things. Because it will get you killed, or worse, it will get the people around you killed. It’s not paranoia, you’ve seen it happen, your nightmares are filled to the brim with the blood and horror or good people dying just because they were good and it’s your fault, it’s all your fault because you didn’t warn them, you let them get close, you let them see you were a good person and you can NEVER. EVER. let that happen to anyone again.
And then there’s Kiryu. Stupid, mutton-headed freak with the arms of a lumberjack and a heart as white as lilies. He’ll be dead tomorrow, you know it. He’s too good, he’s too kind, and he’s not afraid. He’s not damn near afraid enough. He has no idea what’s waiting out there to snap him to pieces. But he’s there tomorrow. Not even a scratch on him, still standing, still strong. You try to warn him, you try to beat him in a way he can survive so that he learns to never try to be good again. But he beats you. He actually fucking beats you and what the fuck are you supposed to do with that? He’ll still die anyway, there’s no way he’ll live where so many have been slaughtered. And he’s still there tomorrow. You pester him, you follow him, you watch him closely, to see what he does, who he is, how is it he’s still alive? It must be some trick, he’s either not as good as you think he is or not as strong or, or... something! Because it’s impossible, it’s impossible that anyone could, that anyone could...
And he smiles. He smiles at you, like he can see right down to that tiny, beating, pure heart you’re trying every second to wrap in barbed wire. And you’re done. You’re fucking done for. He smiles and... it’s all fucking over. Whatever happens now, whether he dies or lives, it’s too late. He’s everything you ever wanted and it breaks you that he, somehow, wants you too. Because who would smile at you if they didn’t know you? Oh, he’s dumb as rocks still, but... the way he looks at you, in those moments when you fuck up, in those moments that if someone was watching, they would see you. And he sees you. And worse, he thinks he likes it. And... oh god. You love him. This will all end in tears.
But it doesn’t. Kiryu’s alive and the same and that’s... that’s wonderful. And that’s the love of two people, two people who see each other and know each other and, god help them, like each other. Despite it all, the risk and worry and the problems, they just... get along. That’s why I ship it.
(I also ship Kiryu/Majima/Tachibana sometimes and we’ll save my essay on that for an entirely different post.)
brotp: Saejima Taiga, obvs. I will not repeat my sentiments on why that’s the brotp here, there’s the Saejima post for that. But I also put Nishida and Kage right up there as Majima’s best bros. You got Nishida out here doing his best to keep his boss from dying and facilitating Majima’s ridiculous courtship ploys and trying to articulate Majima’s feelings for him when Majima Won’t because Nishida cares So Fucking Much about Majima. And he knows that Mjima hates it when people care about him, he knows Majima actively does tno want you to like him but... Nishida’ worked with him for too long not to know what a good, kind person Majima really sis, even if he’s trying his best not to show it. And god damn it, but Nishida’s not going to let him live in misery when he’s got a heart of gold like that.
And Kage too, he and Majima look out for each other. They enjoy the odd cage match and a morose drink of fine liquor. They’ve both seen tragedy in their lives and Kage tries his best to convince Majima not to give up all hope. That Kiryu boy, he really likes him. Even Kage can see it. He’d be happy to... no, no, alright. Just thought he’d say.
Because Majima has that effect on people. He makes friends wherever he goes because he’s a good time, he’s generous and kind and has a knack for picking up people who are down. And he’d do anything for you if you didn’t have a friend in the world. He has so much love to gives and slowly, slowly, with time and healing, with the death of Shimano and the return of his brother, slowly Majima is allowed to feel safe in loving people once more. And it warms everyone’s heart to see him happy and whole with a family and friends. Everyone he’s touched just wants him to be okay, after all he’s done for the world, please, just give him this little bit. It’s all he ever wanted.
general opinions: I Am Love. I LOvE HiM. I lOVe. I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE. I Love HIm. *sobs*

Wammys Week Day 5: ON TIME FINALLLYYYY!!!!
So here’s a story about Matt and Mello being cool detectives in the underground, some hints at some NSFW things but nothing graphic, just saying that stuff happened. It’s kinda long.
Mello stormed into his apartment and kicked a wall as hard as he could, breaking it. “Who was it today Mels?” Matt asked, not looking away from his screen.
“Fucking Jacob Flint, the bastard keeps fucking us over!” Mello said, running his hands through his hair.
“Oh shit, what’d he do today?”
“The fucking bastard decided to cut his shipment to AK, he delayed it for TWO WEEKS, how the hell am I supposed to get bullets for The Exorcist when he doesn't fucking cooperate or do normal business practices? I swear it’s literally only me this has been happening too.” Mello said, grabbing a can of pink lemonade from the fridge, “I’m going to have to use my regular gun now…” He cracked it open and took a sip, “Also, we have a gathering coming up.”
“Oh, we do? Where?” Matt asked.
“Prince’s Villa, up on the cliff, you know, the one.” Mello said sitting on the couch and taking a bite of chocolate.
“Oh, I love Prince’s gatherings! His wife, Carmela, right? Yeah, she gives me candy and calls me handsome.”
“Yeah, but I hear Dante and Jess have beef again so everyone’s in an uproar, so I might have a new case soon.”
“Anyone's game I guess.” Matt said. He always said that Mello would have a case soon but didn’t know who would be hiring him.
--------------------
Matt and Mello were driving to work the following morning, on their usual route to stop at Dunkin’ Doughnuts. They said hi to all their usual friends, some kids who liked to play online with Matt, an old man that liked to talk about guns with Mello, a girl that was friends with B, ECT. The two popped into the packed restaurant, one of the workers and a few regulars said hi to them. They ordered and got their food, sat down at a table and watched the news. Nothing new, just some murders, Mello chucked at most of them, he knew the culprits of most, some Jack the Ripper fan boy who used the alias Jack, it was obvious just by looking. They were eating when an old friend came in and tapped them on the shoulder, “You hear the news?”
“Hey, Chase, long time no see, what’s up?” Mello said.
“Couple of Flint’s guys got killed the other day.” Chase said, pulling up a chair.
“Is that why the bastard didn’t give AK our bullet shipment?” Mello.
“I don’t know. Hey I thought it was because of that that they died. He’s been fucking you guys over al ot hasn’t he?”
“I know right? It started before the feud we just had, fucker might be turning in me or something. It’s bullshit, I just want to use my gun.” Mello said.
“Tch, yeah, tell Ross I said hi by the way, I got places to be, I’ll catch you later crow boy.” Chase walked out the door and sped off in his car.
Mello sighed, he hoped he wouldn’t have to investigate this, it might end up with him in Jess’ part of town, god was that guy an ass.
----------------------
He and Matt were chilling in the hideout, he was honestly waiting for III Rat to come in and tell him he had a client, but nothing happened. Pretty average day really. Not to say they didn’t discuss the murders. Mello had a pretty good hunch as to what happened. Jess and Dante got mad at each other, Jess goes and kills guys for one of Dante’s biggest contributors to her literal black market, Dante gets mad customers and drama and there goes her business again. That was usually the case when this happened. Not to say Mello didn’t have to investigate, and he really hated Jess.
-----------------
The following day, Mello and Matt went through their routine, but when they got to base, they had a surprise guest. Prince.
“Oh, well hey Prince, what brings you here?” Mello asked
“Mello, so glad to see you, there’s an issue I’d like to talk about with you.” Prince said. Price was an elderly man, very kind and respected in the underground, he didn’t have any enemies, not sense his enemies went and started a feud that sent all of the underground spiraling into madness that is, so Mello was unsure of what the issue could be here.
Mello sat down, “What is it?”
“Well, you see, I asked Jacob Flint to give me some bullets if I helped him with trafficking some special bullets.” Mello perked up, “But after words some of his men were killed.”
“I was aware. If you’re asking who did that, I suspected Jess.” Mello said.
“No, Jess and Queeny were out of town that day and his other lackey, I can’t remember his name, was out slaughtering prostitutes again, but I don’t need you to investigate there, that’s none of my business.” Prince said, “It’s about the other murder.”
Mello tilted his head, “There was another?” He asked.
Prince looked shocked for a second, “Yes… there was another murder. A friend of mine who was supposed to be meeting with Vince was poisoned.”
“Poisoned? Who was he?” Mello tilted his head.
“He was a small time guy, did deals and acted as a stand in for big bosses. He was pretty unknown, he wasn’t even from LA. So he wouldn’t have any enemies here.” Prince said.
“So if I’m following this right, you and Vince were having a meeting but rather than come yourself you sent a man with no enemies here to deal for you but the day before this deal he was killed? And with poison no less? Can I have details about his death, where and when?” Mello asked.
“He was at his hotel, having a drink, someone must have poisoned it I assume.” Prince said. “And I was wondering if you could find out who did it.”
“Poison… that almost always means assassination… but by who…” Mello was thinking hard about this. “I wonder… maybe someone had a grudge against Vince? That’s likely… I’ll have to investigate more…” Mello stood up and grabbed his coat. “I’ll have it done by the gathering this Saturday.”
“Thank you Mello… will your friend be coming too?” Prince asked.
“Who, Matt, yes of course, he loves your gatherings, Carmela gives him candy and food is his only reason to leave the house.” Mello laughed along with Prince. Then left to join Matt in the car.
------------------------------
Mello and Matt were parked in a clearing overlooking LA. The place was secluded and they couldn’t be seen or heard. From their place Matt, being incredibly far sighted, could see Prince’s Vila a few miles away. Nothing looked out of the ordinary.
Matt put his goggles back on and turned to Mello, “Mello, why are we up here? I thought we were gonna have some fun… not sit around looking at some old man’s summer house.” Matt wined.
“Matt, what do Vince and Jacob Flint sell?” Mello asked.
“Vince sells explosives and Flint sells bullets. Why?”
“Why would Prince be buying from Vince, and at a time like this? We just had a feud, this is a time of peace? It doesn't make sense for him to need explosives like that, bullets I can understand, we’re all running low, but explosives? No, it doesn't.”
“Huh.” Matt leaned against the car and lit a cigarette, “That is weird, and thanks to our feud, Prince got rid of all his enemies, why bullets? And why would Flint be asking Prince to help him? He’s had no issue before getting his stuff out. There’s no reason for the delay unless…” Matt paused.
“What is it Matty?”
“Why would he just… delay a shipment like that? Especially to AK? No one delays shipments to AK without a reason, and even if Flint has a habit of putting off shipping for a day or two, two weeks has to be a record. I think the delay was on purpose and was the work of Prince.”
“What!?! That doesn't make any sense!” Mello said.
“No, hear me out, the main contenders in the last feud will be at this gathering, and in the last feud, Prince nearly got whipped out and we did nothing until his enemies got on our bad side. What if he’s planning on blowing the place up and this is his way of saying, “Guess you shouldn’t have been so selfish?”
Mello looked down for a bit. “What does that have to do with bullets?”
“We all saw your little display of power when you, in front of everyone, blew a man's head off with the Exorcist from 50 feet away. He’s afraid of power. That’s why he delayed the bullets.”
“But why would he… why tell me about that death then? That would tell me something is up?”
“A distraction, if you’re working on a hard case then you won’t question any weird moves he makes. People here are more afraid of your mind than your gun. So what if he killed this guy to give you a tough case? Then killed some of Flint’s guys, to give you some stress. It adds up.”
“Yes, but It’s still shaky Matt,” Mello sighed “What’s today?
“Friday.” Matt said.
“We won’t be going to that gathering. Not until I get this straightened out.” Mello stood up and paced, talking out loud as he did, “His actions make no sense… why would he give me hints like that… why would he do anything… I wouldn’t have known any way… unless he thought… no what if he’s being sincere and I’m over thinking…
“Mello.” Matt said. Mello looked up, “Who’s his informant?” Matt asked.
“An Usaki Yakuza member, why?” Mello asked.
“All the Usaki kids went back to Japan for the week, remember? He doesn't have information, so he must have assumed you were aware of the murder because he doesn't know that our informant is also an Usaki. He was trying to throw you off by telling you the odd circumstances of and asking you to investigate the death of a man who was working an extremely shady job that he thought you were already suspicious of.”
“So he was trying to make me question a death and not his actions, but what he didn’t know, it that I didn’t know about the death or his actions at all.” Mello found himself marveling at Matt’s deductive ability. How he didn’t end up number one was beyond him.
“And I bet he caused the deaths of those other guys to cover up him trying to delay that shipment on purpose. Chase said it happened a few days ago right?” Matt said.
“But then why would he tell me Jess and his gang of serial killing dumb fucks left LA?”
“He does business in that part of town right? There’s a likelihood that he was trying to keep Jess and his gang's reputation and keep him on your good side.” Matt said.
Mello stood up. He needed to share he and Matt’s deductions with Ross. “Come on Matt, we’re heading back to base.”
--------------------------------------------
Mello stormed in, “ROSS! We made a discovery!”
Ross looked up at him, “What is it?”
“I think Prince is planning on killing us at his gathering.”
“What! Where did you go off thinking that?” Ross asked him.
Mello explained his thinking to Ross and the gang. By the end, Ross was pretty convinced, Mello was never wrong before after all. Mello left out the bit where Matt had come up with the theory. Which may sound rude, but to almost everyone, Matt is just an assistant that does Mello’s bidding and is very replaceable, and not a good portion of the skill and intelligence out of the two of them. It was a protective measure, making it look like Matt is just a replaceable accessory with no value so that no one would try to hurt him to get to Mello. And Matt was ok with that, he didn’t really care.
“So should I tell everyone else or…?” Ross asked.
“Sounds like the best course of action, either way, I’m not going.” Mello said.
“And if you’re wrong?”
“I’m never wrong.”
“Ok then Mello…”
Ross told Mello’s theory to everyone he could think of, and made sure the rumor spread like wildfire, even getting some confirmation from Vince saying that Prince had purchased a large amount of explosives. When the day came, what do you know, the dumb fucks that didn’t listen to Mello’s theory got blown to bits, he was right yet again.
Mello and Matt sat up on their little spot, chilling on the hood of Matt’s car, shirtless, having a couple's moment and watching a Prince’s villa blow up. Matt was smoking a cigarette. Mello was laying up against Matt’s left side, laying on his chest with his hand feeling the muscles in Matt’s right arm.
“Matty, why do some people never listen.”
Matt put his arm around Mello, “Don’t know Mels.”
Mello sighed and kissed Matt on the forehead, “Another case solved by M&M…”
“Mello, can we have some fun?” Matt gave him puppy dog eyes this time.
“Fine, since you’re so fucking cute…”
And so they fucked. The end. No moral. Nothing at all. Just Matt and Mello doing stuff and being cool detective boyfriends.

Fic: Oh Brother (1/6)
Jason decides to go to college. He thinks South Carolina is far enough away from Gotham that his family will leave him alone. He’s wrong.
(or: 5 times Jason's brothers visit him at college and one time Bruce comes too)
(This started as a 'what if Jason gave up the superhero life and went to college' fic and turned into a sort-of crossover with the All For The Game series when I started thinking about Jason at Palmetto and how good he could be at Exy. Mostly though, this is about Jason and his family. )
Read on AO3
*
Jason is pleasantly surprised by the campus of Palmetto State University. He stares up at the building housing the sports teams and reminds himself that he wants to do this. Growing up in Crime Alley, he never believed he’d finish high school, let alone go to college. When he moved in with Bruce and saw Dick away at college he allowed himself to think about it. Then he died. Then he came back. Things had settled down in the few years since he came back to life, to the point where living a semi-normal life seemed attainable.
His first step was becoming a legal entity again. When he explained his plan to her, Barbara was happy to help him set up his identity. She helped him study for the GED and proofread his college applications. He couldn’t exactly pay for college with cash from drug-lords, so he applied for sports scholarships, too. Jason had joined the school’s Exy team during his brief time at Gotham Academy, so that was the sport he chose. Roy was happy to spend an afternoon shooting a reel to send in with his application, and then all that was left to do was wait.
He was accepted into each school he applied to, with a few colleges offering scholarships as well, but it was Palmetto that caught his eye. The whole point of going to college was to stay away from trouble, yet he chose the school that had ties to the yakuza.
The sound of voices brings Jason out of his thoughts and he enters the building. His room is on the top floor so he begins the trek up the stairs. There are already people in his room when he gets there; he recognises them from the files he and Barbara had made on his teammates.
“Hi, welcome,” a cheerful redhead calls out to him. “I’m Dan Wilds, co-captain of the foxes. You must be one of our new recruits.”
“Jason Todd,” he introduces himself. Dan puts down the boxes she had been carrying and helps a tall man with dark hair with the TV he was holding.
Once they had it settled, the man sat down on the couch and smiled up at Jason. “Matt Boyd,” he offered a hand to shake. Jason took it, noticing the dotted scars of track marks up his arms.
“I’ll give you hand bringing your stuff up if you like. Just need a minute to recover. Of course move-in is on the hottest day of the summer,” Matt huffs, sinking further into the couch.
“Don’t worry about, I packed light,” Jason gestures to the duffel bag hanging from his shoulder.
“That’s all you’ve got?” Matt asks.
Jason shrugs. Some clothes, toiletries and books was all he needed to keep in the dorm. He had a safe house a few blocks away where he was keeping his armour and weapons just in case he needed them.
“Please tell me your not on the run from the mob too,” Matt sighs. Dan shoots him a sharp look. “What? He’ll find out about it soon enough.”
“I’m not on the run from anyone,” Jason assures them. Though he’s sure there’s plenty of people from various mobs who would like to get their hands on him, but that’s what secret identities are for.
--
A few weeks into the semester Jason is on the sofa in his dorm room, reading one of his set texts when knock at the door brings his attention back to the room. His roommate Aaron is already across the room so Jason lets him answer it.
“There’s someone here to see you,” Aaron says, turning back to look at Jason with curiosity.
“Let me guess, dark hair and blue eyes?” Jason replies. Aaron nods. “That doesn’t actually narrow it down much.” He sighs and gets up to go to the door. “Dickie-bird,” he greets his older brother. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Little wing!” Dick says in greeting. He’s smiling but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “How about an explanation as to why you decided to go to college halfway across the country without telling any of us?”
Jason rolls his eyes. “It’s none of your business what I do with my time. I’m not breaking any of B’s rules. I thought he’d be happy I’m back at school. Y’know, getting the ‘normal’ life experiences.”
“He’s so proud of you, Jay,” Dick says earnestly. “Are you going to let me in or do we have to do this in the doorway?”
Jason steps back to let his brother into the room.
“Could you give us a minute, A?” Jason asks his roommate. Aaron obliges with a nod and Jason listens to his footsteps as he goes to the girls’ room, presumably to let them know about the tall dark haired man who showed up saying that Jason is a runaway.
“Can we talk freely here?” Dick asks.
“I’ve checked for bugs but I think the walls are pretty thin and my teammates are nosy as shit.”
Dick nods.
“What are you doing here, Dick?” Jason sighs and plops down onto the sofa. Dick perches beside him.
“You weren’t answering our calls,” Dick explains. “Which isn’t that unusual for you, so I went to your apartment.”
Jason winces, knowing what cleared out safe houses would look like to his brother.
“We thought you’d run off again. It scared me, Jay, thinking that you would leave without saying goodbye.”
“I’m sorry,” Jason says quietly. “I didn’t think.”
“It’s a good thing you enrolled here under your real name. It didn’t take Tim long to track you down. Welcome back to the land of the legally living, by the way.”
“Barb helped me out with that. So the whole family knows I’m here?”
“We were worried about you,” Dick shrugs.
“Worried that I’d gone back to kill- breaking B’s number one rule?” Jason censors himself. He has a feeling he’s being listened to.
“Don’t do that, Jay,” Dick says, frustration edging into his voice. “You have to stop expecting the worst of him.”
“I’ll stop expecting it when he stops thinking the worst of me,” Jason huffs.
“He worries-”
“That’s why you’re here, isn’t it? He sent you to check up on me?” Jason rises to his feet, his hands clenched into fists.
“We’re so proud you’re going back to school, but you have a history, Little wing,” Dick says gently.
“Get the fuck out.” Jason is at the door, holding it open for his brother.
“Jason-” Dick is cut off by his brother’s glare. “Fine. Just, answer your phone every once in a while?”
Jason’s eyes drop and he stares at the floor, his face hard. He waits until he hears the elevator doors close before he looks up. The door to the girls’ room next door is ajar. He can see shadows of bodies behind the door. He was right, they were listening.
“Enough entertainment for you?” he says to the general area of the room. He doesn’t expect a response, already turning back to his room when Dan opens the door.
“Sorry,” she says. “We heard shouting, and secret past lives haven’t gone well for the team previously.”
“Previously? You guys are fucked up,” Jason huffs out a laugh.
“Want to come in and talk about it?” Dan offers. Sensing his hesitation, she adds, “We’ve got booze.”
Jason looks into the room where Aaron, Matt and Renee are sitting around the couches. Alison appears with a bottle of wine and a bottle of vodka.
“Fuck it,” he says, and steps into the room. He sits next to Matt and grabs the vodka, bypassing a cup to drink straight from the bottle.
“Gross,” Alison laughs.
He sets the bottle down and looks around at the small group. “Go on then,” he sighs, prompting their questions.
“Who was he?” Aaron asks.
“My brother.”
“You have a brother?”
“Three - wait no, four and sister,” Jason says. He pauses, thinking, then adds, “Last time I checked, anyway.”
They looked at him strangely for the phrasing but didn’t press the topic.
“Did you run away from home?” Renee asks.
“I don’t always get along with my family,” Jason shrugs. “I wanted to go to college, but I couldn’t stay in Gotham to do it. They way they would lookat me,” his hands are clenched into fists at his sides. He takes another drink. “Fuck their pity. Dick called it pride, but it’s guilt.”
“Fucked up family? Join the club,” Allison grins, nudging her plastic cup against the bottle Jason is holding.
“You’ve got no idea.”
“Just please tell us you’re not related to anyone in the mob,” Aaron says.
Jason can’t help but laugh at the irony. “No, my family are definitely anti-mobster.” Eight heads in a duffel bag would argue that Jason was technically a crime lord, but that’s not what Aaron asked.

Weird Dream - Oct. 17, 2019 - The one with Heroes.
welcome, one and all, once again to my wild fucking dream ride.
on last night's episode, i ran around hollow earth with Peter Petrelli, Tracey Strauss, Hiro and Ando, with guest appearances from: The Yakuza, The Company, Angela Petrelli's floating brain, Nathan's re-animated corpse, a Shanti virus infected Claire Bennet, and the human spider Mohinder Suresh.
It is in a drug den where we begin our scene, and Angela Petrelli's just had her brain ripped out by an unknown evil that everyone thinks is Sylar but Peter's like "guys, i know it looks bad, but i can guarantee that it wasn't him." but he won't say WHY he can guarantee that it wasn't Sylar. Just that, he knows with 100% certainty that it wasn't him what did this atrocity.
Then suddenly we're all running for our lives in what amounts to an underground version of the romulan mining ship Narada from the 2009 Star Trek movie. We are all three yelling at each other about who the hell pissed off the Yakuza THIS time. Of course Hiro’s blaming me because Peter can apparently do no wrong. And Peter’s blaming Hiro because Hiro must have done something to piss them off. And so we’re running for our lives in a cat and mouse game with the goddamn yakuza. For some reason, we are all aware that we are in a place called Hollow Earth. Me, Peter and Hiro are separated from Tracy and Ando. For some reason Peter can't copy Hiro's ability, so the poor bastard is having to teleport both me and Peter around. We get cornered and somehow I end up teleported alone to Tracy's location. She's just lost track of Ando in a casino and she's being blackmailed. I find out what's going on and try to stop her from going through with whatever it is they're trying to make her do. and she turns to me and she says "I can handle one measly, snivelling senetor." and she strips off her coat and walks confidently into this dark room like she's about to commit a murder and is 100% confident that she will get away with it.
After this she comes running out in nothing but a bra and panties and has a bite mark on her arm and is freaking the fuck out and i'm like "wtf happened? who did this? i'll kill 'em!"
chaos ensues as the power goes out and there's this eerie moaning. and i hear squelching and there's this awful smell. and then... i hear it. the gurgling voice. I grab tracey and we gtfo of there as fast as we can. i'm dragging her down a corridor and ando's there at the end and he tells us to duck and so we drop to the ground and there's an arc of crimson lightning above us and tracey screams as she's dragged into the dark and i'm being dragged with her because i don't want to let go of her hand. i've got to save her but then her arm comes loose and i'm holding her arm and there's so much blood and then i'm being dragged down the hallway back towards Ando and there's Peter and Hiro and i throw the arm at Hiro and I'm yelling at him about teleporting me to this place and Hiro's very apologetic and says they found out what happened to angela and we have to get out of there asap.
So we start running and the yakuza are after us again but we find our way to some facility and it starts to look eerily familiar in that way that is very unsettling like... you go to say a fast food place that's part of a chain, and then you go across country and there's another one, identical to the first one. and you've NEVER seen one with identical layout and design before and it's just.... both familar and unsettling? that kind of thing. so we're in this facility and we're being led past some cells and i finally get a good look at myself in the glass of one of the cells and i'm so damn exhausted. it turns out i'm Adam Monroe. But at the same time I know for a damn fact that I'm not. But now at least I know why the hell Hiro teleported me off somewhere else.
So anyway, we're led to an office where, lo and behold, there sits Claire Bennet. coughing blood and trying to hold herself together. And she's like "fucking finally! Someone take him to level 5 and start draining those veins!"
so i'm freaking the fuck out because i'm NOT Adam! I know for a fact that Adam is dead now. Because Arthur Petrelli killed him. How i know this i haven't a fucking clue, but i do NOT want to end up being a goddamn bloodbank. Peter seems really put off by this, too. And that's when i realize where we are. We're in a Primatech facility. Me and Peter try to make a break for it, but Hiro keeps fucking freezing time and then the bastard has the audacity to lecture me about making sacrifices to be a hero and i'm like "god fucking damn it! i just wanted to take a vacation and have weird kinky stranger sex with my boyfriend and instead i'm having to save the motherfucking world! AGAIN!"
and then the shambling corpse of Nathan Petrelli staggers out, his head flopping back and there's razor teeth in his throat and he sort of slams his neck down on claire's head and eats her brain. and Peter's like "i fucking told you guys it wasn't Sylar!"
And Ando is trying to fry Nathan's zombified body and all it's doing is making it twitch a bit and finally i've had enough and i grab ando by the arm and suddenly i'm not Adam anymore and my hands are sparking and Hiro's really confused and Peter's just like "....so..... that's a no on the sex then." and i'm freaking out because holy shit i've been Peter this entire time. so if i've been Peter this entire time who...
And that's when my brain just decides fuck it, let's just run with this wild ass adventure and me and "Peter" blast undead nathan with red and blue lightning and he fucking explodes and there's Nathan chunks everywhere and Claire's still kind-of conscious and she's screaming and her brain is exposed but it's not healing and that's when Hiro, not knowing what else to do, grabs Ando and me, and i reach out and grab "Peter" and the four of us teleport away.
We end up in a room of jars. and in these jars are brains. brains floating in some kind of liquid, and there's a man at a desk. and it's Mohinder. And he's putting a fresh brain in a jar of goo and Hiro is disgusted. Ando is freaking out because he's reading the carefully placed labels on the jars and he's like "Holy shit! He's got the Hatian guy's brain here!" and "Peter" is looking around and he's like ".....you know.... why did i never think of this?"
and that's when Hiro and Ando figure out that "Peter" isn't Peter because I'm Peter and "Peter" is Sylar and yes, i've apparently been fucking that for a while. And Hiro's freaking out like "he killed your brother!" and i'm like "yeah, and i just helped him do it again!" And Ando is trying not to retch while Mohinder is crawling around like a freaking ass spider, stopping only to pet his jars of brains and goo.
And that's when i woke up.

do that fandom meme! 001 with drrr
Thanks for the ask!
Favorite character: It’s always so difficult to choose onlyone character but uuuuh, I think I’ll go with Izaya.
Least Favorite character: I’m not a big fan of Aoba.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Shizaya,Shinra/Celty, Erika/Walker, Izaya/Shinra and… I don’t know? I guess I do shipShizuo and Tom a bit.
Character I find most attractive: Hear me out, I know he has a fake eye and is literally a yakuza executive, but Akabayashi is HOT.
Character I would marry: Weird answer, but Tom. Prettygood-looking, chill guy, has a job -nevermind the fact that involves collectingmoney from the customers of dubiously legal dating sites-, and doesn’t getinvolved in most of the crazy shit that goes down everyday in Ikebukuro.
Character I would be best friends with: I think I could getalong with most of the Van Gang, especially Erika.
A random thought: I have to give this to the writing: itmanaged to make me like more than 90% of the cast, even the backgroundcharacters with little screen time, and care for everyone’s story line which issomething not many shows manage to do, at least for me. There never was amoment where I was “Ok, but when do we go back to X’s story?”, soyeah.
An unpopular opinion: I don’t know how unpopular it is butthe incest angle between the Orihara sisters wasn’t really necessary anddoesn’t add anything to the story or their characterisation. If anything, itsquicks me out and plays out one of the stereotypical “anime tropes” theshow is thankfully lacking for the most part.
My canon OTP: Shinra/Celty, obvs.
Non-canon OTP: Take a guess lol (Shizaya, it’s Shizaya)
Most badass character: I mean the first one that comes tomind is Shizuo or Celty, but the entire cast is made of badasses so the choice is kindahard.
Pairing I am not a fan of: Mikado/Aoba. It just…doesn’t doit for me. When it comes to pairing up Mikado I prefer him with Anri.
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way oranother): Mikado. Ooooh Mikado. I understand not all characters have to remain“innocent and pure” throughout their story arc but I feel likeMikado’s transformation from bored teenager who tries to add a bit of excitementto his life by creating a super-secret online community to gang leader whoencourages violent purges with excuse of creating a safer city for his friendswas a bit too rushed and, while his motives were understandable, it made prettyhard to sympathise with them.
Favourite friendship: Even if I also ship them romantically,in some contexts, the Izaya/Shinra friendship is my absolute favourite. It’ssuch a twisted and unconventional dynamic, yet you can’t deny they still carefor each other in some way.
